FAQ (2026 Version)
Some frequently asked questions and a bit about me
Sinners,
It’s been so long since I did one of these that I felt it was needed to do it once again. The last one I did was toward the beginning of my Substack journey, and that was around 15000 subscribers ago! The reason I did it before was that I ended up getting a lot of the same questions coming into my inbox, and I thought it was a fun idea to help people out with the easy stuff. Also, it’s a good way to know the author behind this publication and let you all get to know me a bit better.
As an aside, I love getting correspondence from my readers. The easiest way to reach me is by email, which is SinfulUrgesPublishing at Gmail, but I can also be found on Reddit fairly easily. Also, I ended up acquiescing and downloaded the Substack app on my phone so I can be a bit easier to get a hold of through the chat feature here. Substack isn’t the only thing I’m working on. I actually do a fair amount of writing outside the genre which you all know and love me for (I E Smut), and because of that, things get put on the back burner on occasion. But FRET NOT! I love you all and appreciate everyone here who is subscribed, whether that be free or paid. I also will be sure to keep this publication updated as long as Substack will allow it. My readers have helped me out of some funks, and I owe you all so much
Now, let’s get to the meat of the matter, shall we?
Can we have sexy chats?
No. I don’t think it’s appropriate for authors of any genre to interact with their fanbase like that. There are many obvious reasons, but the wimpy one I fall back on is that it’s immoral. It creates a relationship that isn’t even rooted in truth. While I am an author, and it probably feels like you are interacting with me every time you read some of my work, honestly, it’s something that has been constructed for that purpose. It’s a bit disingenuous to let you all speak to someone who is a bit of an avatar. The writer I am on here is only a small portion of my life. It’s not the real me. Truthfully, most of you would lose interest if you actually met the real me, a middle-aged American dude with debt and some bad knees.
There are plenty of amazing peeps out there, and I’m sure you’ll find someone out there who will be more than happy to have those sexy chats with you.
WHY DO YOU WRITE THIS STUFF?! ARE YOU UNWELL?!
I am very much an unwell and twisted individual. I am fully aware that the stuff I write isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. And I don’t blame anyone for not reading my work. It’s some sick shit. But, I also have come to realize that erotica is fantasy, and as long as the adults in the room are aware that fantasy and real life are never to mix without consenting parties on all sides, I don’t see an issue. No, I don’t believe anyone should act out any of the stuff that I write. But some of you, like me, have some strange tastes, and I enjoy giving a supply for that.
It’s also the reason why I try to put a ton of out there shit in my stories. I don’t want you reading my work and thinking that you are going to construct a device that can wipe people’s brains or seduce your stepmom. It’s gonna come across as mealy-mouthed and confusing to some, but my art is not the way I see the world. At least, not the stuff I publish here and on Smashwords and Reddit. They are fun stories that get me going, and I’ve been reading similar tales since the dial-up days.
Do you do commissions?
No. I wish I had the energy and time to do commission work, because it pays well. Shout out to all the beasts out there that make custom content for their audience. I USED to do commissions during the pandemic, and it was awesome until it wasn’t. My anxiety and other issues I go through make revisions feel like torture. I did have some pretty peculiar clients, mixed in with a lot of flakes and pervs.
R/EroticaSells on Reddit is where I used to sell my services. That’s a good place to look. Also, there are plenty of artists here on Substack who can help you with your fantasy. I commend those folks because they are built with stronger stuff than I am.
What happened to your Podia store?
The observant folks who have read me for a long time are aware that I used to run a Podia storefront, which included a membership tier that included all of my published work. That was how I sold my writing for a few years. The issue I ran into when running it was that the price point wasn’t the greatest, and I probably should have done an annual subscription. Also, I feel like the medium and the storefront weren’t incredibly conducive to sales. One thing I’ve learned while writing for money is that people like to put their money on the counter when it’s a store they are comfortable with. That’s the reason why I’ve always gone back to Smashwords. They will host the literature I produce, and there are already folks there looking for the genre of fiction I write.
I am in the process of trying to get a new website where I can host my books and also offer a premium subscription. AllTheseRoadworks, who is somewhat of an inspiration of mine, has a website where he hosts all of his writings and is able to offer membership tiers. I may go that route, but I’m already incredibly lazy, and adding on more work sounds pretty horrible. But, I also would like somewhere besides Substack to host some stuff, especially considering that Stripe can be trigger-happy when it comes to cutting off monetary funds for writers of my ilk.
I try my best to remain an open book. If you have any questions or want to reach out for any reason at all, feel free to drop me a line.
Take care, sinners.
